Intro to Conflict Free Communication

How to stay self-respecting, influential, and emotionally steady in conversations where you’d normally shrink, over-accommodate, or get reactive.

Intro to Conflict-Free Communication

A grounded framework for speaking clearly, confidently, and with respect — even when it’s hard

Live class | 2 sessions (60 minutes each)

March 6 & 20, 2026 at 1-2 PM CST.  Recordings available.

Many capable, thoughtful people struggle not because they don’t know what to say —
but because they lose access to themselves when the conversation actually matters.

You may recognize yourself if:

  • You want to speak up more clearly and confidently

  • You worry about upsetting others or damaging relationships

  • You avoid or overthink difficult conversations

  • You feel less steady or articulate in high-stakes discussions

  • You want your voice to land with clarity, respect, and influence

This class is designed to help you stay grounded, self-respecting, and clear — so you can say what needs to be said without freezing, over-explaining, or getting reactive.

What this class is about

Conflict-Free Communication is a practical, repeatable framework for having meaningful conversations where emotions are present, stakes are high, and clarity matters.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Prepare for conversations so emotions inform rather than drive them

  • Identify a shared goal that reduces defensiveness and power struggles

  • Speak honestly without blame, collapse, or escalation

  • Stay steady and self-trusting when emotions or power dynamics are present

  • Navigate difficult conversations without losing yourself or the relationship

This work applies to:

  • Workplace conversations and leadership situations

  • Giving or receiving feedback

  • Navigating power dynamics

  • Family and personal relationships

Class Format

This class is offered in two 60-minute live sessions, with space in between to reflect and apply the framework to a real conversation in your life.

Session 1:
Staying grounded before and during the conversation

  • Why confidence disappears in high-stakes moments

  • Emotions as information (not instructions)

  • Pre-conversation preparation: shared goals, intention, emotional steadiness

  • Introduction to the Conflict-Free Communication framework

Between sessions:
You’ll be invited to reflect on a real conversation you want to approach differently.
(No heavy homework. No pressure.)

Session 2:
Speaking clearly without escalation or self-betrayal

  • Inviting the conversation with respect

  • Stating facts (including emotional facts) with clarity

  • Asking for perspective and negotiating outcomes

  • Staying out of defend/blame mode when stakes are high

Who this class is for

This class is especially helpful if you:

  • Are already capable and thoughtful, but feel less confident in difficult conversations

  • Care deeply about relationships and impact

  • Want to build influence without becoming harder or quieter

  • Are ready to speak more clearly without self-betrayal

You don’t need to be “bad at communication” to benefit from this work.
You just need to want to stay yourself when it matters most.

What you’ll leave with

  • A clear, practical communication framework you can return to again and again

  • Greater confidence and steadiness in difficult conversations

  • Language and structure you can apply immediately

  • A stronger sense of self-trust under pressure

Continuing the work

If you’re looking for ongoing support and a place to practice these skills over time, the Community Gathering Place offers a steady, relational space to continue the work alongside others navigating similar challenges.
